While the phrase ‘cyber attack’ may bring to mind images of the typical hooded hacker operating from a dark basement, 82% of data breaches are actually caused by company employees. From clicking on phishing emails to regulatory non-conformance, and even deliberate sabotage by disgruntled staff members, it’s more often the case that the damage comes from within an organization than from an external attacker. Yet, amazingly, only 1 in 9 organizations provide any cybersecurity awareness training.
